Vizkidz is a children's book series focusing on demystifying math, science, and especially data visualization for young kids.  The problems proposed by author Liv Buli were that children have trouble overcoming feelings of intimidation and frustration when dealing with setbacks, especially in STEM fields.

The solution from a design standpoint was to create a story arc and characters who guide the audience to a more comfortable relationship with these feelings.  The solution was the creation of a "Confusion Curmudgeon", a friendly untrained-dog-like character who shows up when the math gets tough.  The Vizkidz must not reject or ignore the Curmudgeon, but rather to appreciate him and take him along on the journey.

I was responsible for concept creation, character development, as well as story development and the execution of two books, now available on Amazon.
